A note to the reader from the interviewee
You are valid. Your trauma is valid, and your response to your trauma is valid. Even if your response isn't necessarily healthy it is not your fault. You don't need to shame yourself for the way that you are reacting to something that has hurt you so deeply to make you behave in such a way. You can slowly heal, and you can work on yourself to find healthier coping skills and mechanisms. Your trauma doesn't define you...your resilience and strength are what define you. You are a strong beautiful person who has been through a lot and I believe in you. You can overcome so much and find what it is to lead a really fulfilling life even with PTSD.
